Welcome to Traken Estate.
Traken Estate is located in the fertile lands of Ohoka, North Canterbury and is just 20 minutes from Christchurch international airport and 30 minutes from Christchurch city and an easy 5 minute drive from either Kaiapoi or Rangiora.
Visitors are welcome to come and view our animals have a chat. Bed and Breakfast style accommodation is also available.
Our TB status is C10 with annual TB testing.
Highland Cattle
We have been involved with Highland Cattle since 1999 and have built up a herd of approximately 25 animals. One of the features of the herd is the number of black and brindle animals we have which makes a nice contrast against the more traditional red colours.
All our breeding stock is registered with the New Zealand Highland Cattle Society. Animals can also be registered with Lifestyle Breeds if required.

Llama's
Llama's are a newer arrival at Traken Estate with our first Llama's purchased in 2003. Currently we have 6 breeding females, 2 stud male and 3 younger Llama's. Our Llama's range in colour from pure white, full brown and black and a number of mixed colours.
We also sell Llama fibre which can be purchased in full fleece or per 100g for pure fleece or by the 100g for carded fleece. Fleece is available in a number or colours and can be ordered prior to the Llama being clipped.
